You have seen what happens when the schedule lives in text messages. Quilt puts the custody order on a calendar both parents and the kids can read, makes every change a request with a recorded answer, and keeps a record nobody can edit. It reads like a family calendar, so people open it every day instead of only when there is a fight.
The order becomes the calendar
Rotation, holidays by even and odd year, school breaks and hand-off times, written through next year. Upload the order and parents can ask it questions in plain language; the answers quote the document.
Changes are requests, not arguments
A parent taps the days they need covered and sends. The other parent accepts, counters, or hands over different days, in one tap. Agreed changes lock and show on both calendars with who agreed and when.
A record that survives scrutiny
Every request, answer, message and expense is stamped by the server at the moment it happens. Rows cannot be updated or deleted, by anyone, at the database level. Any date range exports as a Letter-size PDF with a case header, page numbers and a SHA-256 fingerprint, so a copy can be checked against the original.
Money, settled in the open
A receipt becomes an expense line with the amount, date and category. Parents set the split, send a batch, approve or reject each line, and mark paid with the confirmation attached. All of it in the record.
The kids are not in the middle
Each kid's phone or tablet opens their own Quilt: whose house it is, the week, chores, messages. No account. They never see the grown-ups' requests or the record.
One price, both parents
$79 a year or $9.99 a month covers the whole family, after 30 days free. The best-known app in this space bills each parent separately. A lower price means the parent who didn't choose the app is likelier to sign in.

What we are careful about
- Quilt gives no legal advice and says so in the app. If the calendar and the order disagree, the order governs.
- Parents cannot see each other's personal calendars, notes, or sign-in accounts. The shared part is the kids' schedule and what both agreed to.
- The record is available to both parents equally. Neither can hide, edit or delete anything in it.
- Messages have a tone check that shows why a draft reads heated and offers a calmer version with the same facts. Either version can be sent; both are recorded.
