This is what a Quilt calendar looks like
A made-up family, Sam and Jordan, week-on/week-off with two kids. Colors are whose days they are. Dots are the kids' things. Dashed days are a change one parent asked for. Scroll down through the months like Apple's calendar. Tap any day.

With Jordan
All day at Jordan's. ☀️ 81°
Nothing on the calendar. In the app, the box above the grid takes plain English: “swim practice Tuesday 6 to 7 on Ava's calendar”.

NoteA note the kids see
Dinner and notes are yours and the kids'. The other parent never sees them.

See it as a kid
Ava's Quilt, on her own tablet
A parent pairs the device once with a six-digit code. No account, nothing to remember, nothing about the grown-ups' arrangements. Four tabs: today, the week, chores, messages.

Chores that set themselves up
Four questions, one plan, then a tap to approve each tick
Tell Quilt what you want chores to do, how to motivate the kids, and how much is fair. It writes a plan by age: chores with days and stars, a couple of up-for-grabs jobs, what a star is worth, and payout day. Trim it and tap once. Two homes keep separate lists and can offer each other theirs.
The assistant
Our take: ages six to eight do well with a quarter a star and a weekly payout.

Optional. Stars count once a parent approves. Send it back and the tick clears.
Type a chore by hand and Quilt finishes the name: “exer” → Exercise for 20 minutes, Go for a walk outside, Ride your bike.

Money, screen time, or a ladder. Same for every kid, or fit to each age. Kids see the dollars, the payout day and the last payout on their own page.

Echo Show widget and “Alexa, open quilt calendar” Coming soon · in Amazon's review
What's built: a widget for the Echo Show home screen that refreshes itself, with a card per person (parents see whose house and the week, kids see their chores and tick them off on the Echo), and a voice skill for whose house it is tonight, the next hand-off, what's on Saturday, and adding an event. It goes live when Amazon approves the skill. Today, Quilt shows on any Echo Show through Amazon's own calendar widget: connect Quilt to Google Calendar, then link that Google account to Alexa.

Alexa says it too, then listens: “whose house is it tonight”, “when is the next hand-off”, “what's on Saturday”, “what are the chores for Ava”, “add swim practice Tuesday at six”.
Mock-up of the widget as submitted. Each parent will link their own account, so the Echo at each house shows that parent's view.
Messages that stay calm
A thread with the other parent, the family, or one kid
Read receipts, everything timestamped into the record. When a draft reads heated, Quilt shows why and offers the same message without the heat. Send either; nothing is blocked.
Can you take Saturday pickup? Ava's recital runs late.
Yes. 3 pm at the field?
Perfect, thank you.

You ALWAYS do this. Figure out your own ride for once.
This reads heated. Character accusations and all caps land badly.
Same message, cooler
I can't do Saturday pickup this time. Can you arrange a ride?
Shared costs
Expenses without the spreadsheet
The costs you actually split: school, medical, camps, sports. Snap the receipt, the fields fill in, send a report, the other parent approves line by line. Day-to-day things like a winter coat at your house stay off the list; the app never nudges you to bill each other for those.
The clothes: Sam asked Jordan to grab them, so that line is all on Sam. Splits are 50/50 unless you say otherwise. Every line and answer lands in the record.
For your lawyer, if it ever comes to that
The record, as a court-ready PDF
Every request, answer, message, expense step and notification, timestamped by the server the moment it happened. Neither parent can edit or delete an entry. Pick a date range and download.
